Valentine's Day Card Illustrations

I was commissioned by TransLink to produce themed greeting cards for Valentine’s Day, coinciding with their yearly I Love Transit Week campaign. The cards are available for free download on The Buzzer blog.

The Waterfront Station card exemplifies the I Love Transit Week theme by highlighting the terminus station as a well-known meeting place for people, as well as all of TransLink’s modes of transit. The RapidBus cards promote Valentine’s Day-style phrases and work with established branding to further deliver impactful jokes. Both cards reflect the friendly tone and visual aesthetic of TransLink’s customer communications.

I was tasked with writing and designing the cards under a short one-week deadline. I finished my design work earlier to maximize drawing time, while aiming to deliver ahead of time to allow for feedback. I constantly communicated my goals and progress with the client, and I prepared several versions of each card with revisions and design recommendations.

The cards performed very well on social media, attracting over 1,000 Likes on TransLink’s Instagram for their image-based post and over 500 Likes for their video post.
